Java Remains the Most Popular Programming Language

​Java has maintained its position as the most popular programming language through 2016 according to the Popularity of Programming Language (PYPL) Index. The index is created by analysing how often language tutorials are searched on Google. Java also remains the most sought-after programming skill in job ads, particularly for enterprise positions.

Python has increased in popularity during 2016, rising 2.6% according to the Index, while Javascript has jumped two places to 5th.
