We regularly recognize a K2 consultant who has received outstanding client feedback on their recent project.

This month the K2 Consultant of the Month is Gabriel Dan, a SAP SD/MM Consultant. Read his interview below:

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I’m from Romania and enjoy watching movies, reading and spending time with my family whenever I can. I’ve been a SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) consultant since 2006 and I’ve worked for customers from various industries and countries. Each project has been a vital opportunity to learn and make progress in my career.

2. Tell us a little about your most recent K2 project.

My most recent K2 project was with a top client in the manufacturing industry. I was tasked with upgrading the SAP system with various interfaces and multiple processes across many countries. This was a great opportunity to test, familiarize with and learn different SD localization flows and local legal requirements.

3. What do you enjoy most about your job?

I love being part of the team, seeing my achievements, delivering solutions on time, having fun and facing challenges.

4. Which technical development do you think will have the biggest impact on your field or the wider world of IT over the next couple of years?

It’s difficult to predict but SAP is always innovating. My advice would be to watch SAP Leonardo closely. As companies increasingly turn to automation, SAP Leonardo allows them to automate parts of their analytics process and analyzes key data. The result is more dynamic insights, resulting in better business decisions. I think this area in particular will give rise to a lot of exciting innovation.

5. What advice would you give to someone who is starting out as a freelance IT consultant?

Learn, listen, understand your client’s requirements, address questions, be polite, be pragmatic and don't be self-sufficient. Also, be aware that some projects will be short, some projects will take a long time and sometimes you won’t have a project. It depends on you and a little luck.
