Job Description

You will be solving challenging business problems and build highly scalable and available applications that provide an excellent user experience.
Here are key responsibilities of the role -
- Design, document and implement new systems, as well as enhancements and modifications to existing software with code that complies with design specifications and meets security and Java best practices.
- Interact with both business and technical stakeholders to deliver high quality products and services that meet business requirements and expectations to maximize ROI while applying the latest available tools and technology and meet company objectives.
- Have a passion for delivering zero defect code and be responsible for ensuring the team&'s deliverables meet or exceed business expectations
- Be accountable for the end-to-end planning and execution of one or more projects and/or Agile teams
- Identify opportunities for product innovation and strive for improvements to best practices, standards and processes
- Responsible for overseeing the completion of requirement definitions, functional and technical specifications, architecture definition, database design, technical implementation, unit and integration testing of systems for product development and delivery
- Lead scope, schedule, budget, risks, deployments and communications for programs and initiatives identified for this effort
- Mentor junior developers to ensure deliverables are on time with good code quality
- Coordinate Continuous Integration activities, testing automation frameworks and other related items in addition to contributing core product code
- Proactively identify and remediate security vulnerabilities
- Work with all functional and technical leads and teams to bring the plan into reality.
- Resolve technical issues, remove impediments from teams and communicate program status along the way to key stakeholders/leaders in both Product & Technology organization
- Understand product strategy and benefits of key deliverables in his/her area of responsibility
- Facilitate sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-up meetings, reviews/demos, retrospectives, and other scrum ceremonies
- Facilitate program status meetings and conflict resolution
- Track and remove impediments for the team
- Set goals and develop metrics and reports using Rally to help the team understand its health and progress
- Coach team members to understand Scrum and the Agile Principles
- Ensure clear communication to the stakeholders/leaders and foster collaboration between the different functional teams
- Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Drive and challenge technology owners on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
- Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner
Qualifications
- 9+ years of relevant work experience with a bachelor’s degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3+years of experience with a PhD
- 10+yrs of hands-on experience and deep knowledge in software product development (Java/J2EE, SOA based applications)
- 3+ years of experience in designing/architectural horizontally scalable, multi-tenant SOA application
- Proficient in implementing design patterns. Strong understanding of: Java, J2EE, RDBMS, NoSQL DB such as Cassandra, Mongo DB, Spring, Hibernate.
- Expertise with Spring, and Apache frameworks
- Development experience in building Microservices, specifically with HTTP, REST, JSON and XML.
- Experience in containerization and container orchestration technology.
- Experience in developing and deploying components as docker containers is must.
- React / Redux experience is required.
- Experience in messaging system and distributed technology.
- Experience in deployment and distribution lifecycle with automated and scalable CI/CD infrastructure. Experience in GIT, Maven, Jenkins, Stash or such build automation tools
- Deep knowledge of Agile framework (User Stories, Continuous Integration, TDD, Continuous Delivery, Pairing, Automated Testing)
- Previous experience with financial services/payments processing experience a big plus
- Divides time between active coding related activities, design, coordination, mentoring, project management, and/or leading same.
- Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.
- Proficient in at least one agile project management tool: Rally, Jira, Version One, etc.
- Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis
- Decisive but inclusive decision making in a fast-paced environment
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) is a plus
- A go-getter who is not overwhelmed by new technology, tight timelines, or parallel projects
