Find out more by reading his interview below:

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I started off working in the SAP MM space but pivoted towards SAP Ariba after a few years. I’ve been mostly working with cloud applications, such Ariba and Concur, for the last few years. I now have about 11 years of experience in working with SAP products.

2. Tell us more about your most recent K2 project.

My most recent project involved a client who was implementing Ariba Buying and Invoicing and Ariba SLP. I was responsible for writing all the test scripts for UAT and leading the testing in general. My other responsibility was writing the configuration document. I had to catch up quickly on everything that was done and provided the client with a 118 page document for their reference.

3. What do you enjoy most about your job?

Working from home is a great perk and allows me to spend more time with my two kids. I also like solving real-world problems and learning things along the way. The more experience you gain the more valuable you become.

4. Which technical development do you think will have the biggest impact on your field or the wider world of IT over the next couple of years?

I think the most obvious answer is AI. Especially if you work in the IT development world that deals with coding. I can envision AI taking over some of the work leading to a decrease in employment. I think my particular niche is safe for now.

5. What advice would you give to someone who is starting out as a freelance IT consultant?

They should take a training course or gain experience in their particular niche. Strive to do their best and most importantly be sociable and confident. The client wants to feel they are in good competent hands. The last piece of advice would be to create a S-Corp and go the C2C route to save some money on taxes.
